Ketola
Ketola, also known as Angled Luffa, Sponge Gourd, Silk Gourd, or Ridge Gourd (Luffa acutangula), is a tropical vegetable belonging to the gourd family. It has a long, cylindrical shape with distinct ridges running along its skin. The flesh is tender and mildly sweet when young, making it a popular ingredient in stir-fries, curries, and soups across Asian and Indian cuisines. As it matures, the inner fibers harden and can be used as a natural loofah sponge. Rich in fiber, vitamins A and C, and antioxidants, ketola is valued for its digestive benefits and cooling properties in traditional remedies.
