Turnip
Turnip (Brassica rapa) is a root vegetable with a round shape and smooth, white flesh, often with a purple or red-tinted top near the crown. It has a mild, slightly peppery flavor, similar to radishes, and a crunchy texture when raw. When cooked, turnips become tender and have a slightly sweet taste. Turnips are commonly used in soups, stews, mashed dishes, or roasted. Both the root and the greens (turnip tops) are edible and nutritious. Rich in vitamins C and K, fiber, and antioxidants, turnips offer health benefits such as supporting immune health and promoting digestion.
